resetting front seat computer 900

hi, i've got a 960 with the memory power seats. the seats would not move back and forth more than an inch or so. I searched the other post and read the faqs and checked the cables. the cables seems to be good as the seats move back and forth an inch or so. I'm now thinking that it might need to be reset for th front and back stops. is this dealer only or is there something i can do?
