horn pinouts 900 1993

Does the polarity of voltage fed to the horns matter? I know yellow is positive, and blue/black is negative, but does it matter if you cross these connections at the horn?

I believe that if you look at the back of the horn with the connections oriented on top, that the yellow wire goes to the left connection and the blue/black goes to the right connection, but in the used horns I've gotten, there's been a variation in how the harnesses were connected.
