Ok, so I got curious. I wanted to get it from the horse's mouth, so I looked on the bosch part finder, which lists separate fuel pumps for turbo/not, but it only lists part numbers, and doesn't seem to list an in-tank pump for the N/A cars.
And I don't know if you were being sarcastic (?) but I didn't see the reason for it - wasn't trying to say I'm teh volvo guru, only that I kind of thought...
whatever though, it's all in good fun, right?
So, assuming that you were being friendly, I would think they would only bother to design and produce one type of return line, and that the fuel pressure regulators could follow the same idea - one for all cars, given that there is positive manifold pressure under boost, which could push the FPR farther than "zero" vacuum for N/A cars ever would. Then you could run the same pressure on all cars, and just change out the injectors (I know there are turbo injectors that flow more fuel in the same amount of time, because the standard injectors can't dump fuel fast enough).
I suppose that your knowledge trumps my conjecture :P
