Re-Ring Question 444-544

Could be 0.030" oversize. I'd go back with the mikes and make sure of both the cylinder and the piston sizes.
If you are not sure of your ability to measure them, get help. If the pistons don't show scuffing or other damage you could probably put in new rings and be in good shape, assuming that they are the right size. If you have feeler gages it might be of interest to see how thick a gage you can get into the cylinder with the piston without forcing it. If it is on the order of 0.002" or less your pistons should be good. Factory clearance is normally 0.0016"/0.04mm.
This is measured at 90° to the wrist pin.
