You know...

That's (apparently) too obvious for me...!

Being in an office devoid of wire coathangers, I wrested a bit of metal wire off of a paper sorter and bent it to a long L.

I then slipped it through the top edge of my vent window seal and levered the vent knob up. Being a 68 this was a plastic latch that opened right up (!).

So instead of the obvious use of the handle, I lowered the window, reached over and raised the knob and retrieved my keys.
