940 power seat problems 900

Movement on only one side indicates a problem with one of the drive cables. The seat is provably bound up now. One side is probably so far forward or reversed from the other side that the motor won't dive either side. The single motor drive both sides by cable which look like speedometer cables. The cables can pull out on one end and fail to drive. I shortened the cable housing on my car and got the seat to work.

I've fixed a couple of these, but I'm not an expert on them. The Volvo power seats are very nice, but what a chore to repair.
