Check Engine light on and car keeps stalling 200 1989

I have an automatic 1989 240 Volvo that has been experiencing some problems for the past few days. I know that the car has an oil leak - it loses about a quart of oil every two weeks but some other behavior just started occurring. The Check Engine light came on 5 days ago and 3 days ago I started having issues with it starting up. When I start the car it runs for about 10 seconds and then stalls. If I feed the car gas it will continue to run for about 30 more seconds but then stalls again. The only way to keep the car running is to accelerate and drive it before it is warmed up, which I know is not good for a car. The area I live in just recently experienced freezing temperatures so I was thinking that maybe the battery needs replaced because it's over two years old but if that's the case, wouldn't the Battery light come on? What else could be the problem?
