K-Jet head on my B23F? Effects? 200 1983

It's been awhile ago and I'm just getting back around to trying to get this car running as it should. Does anyone know off hand what effect my 83 240 having a reportedly Canadian K-Jet head and cam would have on it? I'm told the cam, I forget if it's an A or B, should have slightly more power above 3K or so, which it does not, at all. The compression should be the same on them yes?
And yes the K-Jet injector holes are plugged. This was on the car when I got it.

On a related note, could it in any way account for pinging at light throttle cruise, 40mph-ish, with the timing verified correct? Only way I could ever get rid of it was to plug the vac advance and just manually advance the base timing a bit till it was drivable. Set to 12BTDC it's a dog, and pings, set to 9 or 10BTDC it's a dog and does not ping except for an occasionally single ping at WOT.
Which is making more noise than accelerating the car. I went through the clean throttle body, set idle, clean IAC, new 02, clean AMM, check for vac leaks, new gapped plugs etc, etc bit a year ago when I bought it. Still idles rough, still surges at idle till warmed up a bit, still down on power. It isn't obviously rich or lean, both fuel pumps are new, I believe the FPR is fine as well.
