Question for Triode52 or others, fuel gauge only swap, 93 to 92 cluster 700

I had a post on here a while back about a cluster issue regarding a 740t wagon, 1992 model. I have located a new (to me) cluster from a 1993 940t wagon, which is supposedly operable. I plan on installing it in my 1992 740, in which everything will work except the fuel gauge due to the incompatibility of the senders. What is the procedure for the swap of the fuel gauge only, (92 gauge into the 93 cluster), Triode52 mentioned in my last post he had done this, but it is not necessarily a precise exact fit. Any help appreciated, thanks
