How many sizes down for snow tires from the 205/55/16? 900

My '91 945T came with 205/55/16s, and that's not good for snow. Other Brickboarders have mentioned swapping in 195/65/15s with no problem for this size.

Has anyone used 185/65/15s as on other RWD 700-900s, and will they change dynamics badly? What about other smaller sizes?

(Random specs at Tire Rack show the OD might be ~2% less with the 185s but almost no difference between the 205s and the 195s.)
