I expect there are about a zillion ways to make a car fail smog. Like you said.. it might fail all by itself.

I'm not going to go into those zillion methods...

As many laws are on the books that I disagree with, and as many programs are in place that I disagree with... well, lets just say that if a hypothetical friend might start to tell me about something they are hypothetically doing that is not quite legal (whether or not I agree with his/her reason for doing so), I stop them from telling me about it.

If I know about it, and someone in an authority position asks me about it, I might have to tell the truth. I'd rather not know.

You really shouldn't be posting this question on a public forum. What you do is your business.. we here shouldn't know about it. And I, for one, won't take part.

You are asking for advice on how to commit fraud, and that's the bottom line.

Good luck! Sorry the car isn't salvageable.. I do understand that feeling.
