Ron and RJ,
I'm a 40 year male who is excited about owning an old Amazon - my dad bought one when he came to the USA back in 1963 from Germany. He was one of the first to own one in Upstate New York. That's why I bought it - to honor him.
If I came across as lacking commonsense because I want to spend my money on the brakes first and then tackle other issues such as the ignition later, so be it.
I guess I don't really now how these forums work...
Ron, if you thought the idea of buying extra keys was silly and lacking commensense - addressing the post to me would've been better, perhaps more constructive?
I've made a number of posts on the forum and have found some very helpful information on it and the other Vintage Volvo sites.
There are more pressing issues than arguing about $100 keys. Please take no offense Repairman Jack- you did make a great point about the silliness of buying a $100 key blank.
And Ron, if you're the guy with the Swedish Embassy website then you are sincerely a wealth of info. Your website has been incredibly helpful as I've worked on my 122S. :)
My skin in fairly thick after working in the business world but I think I'm done with this site for the time being.
Time to turn off my computer and go take a nice long drive in my Work-In-Progess 122S.
Sincerely,
Patrick Walter
