Battery or Alternator or Worse? 200 1993

I have a '93 240 that has served me well. I recently had a break down on the freeway that went something like this:
1) the alternator belt tension series of lights went on and off for a few hours - mostly off.
2) the abs light went on
3) the radio died
4) the car started surging and losing power badly

I pulled over and had to kill the engine. The battery had 2V left on it. The next day I got a jump and it drove with no problem - the alternator belt wasn't slipping. By the time I got it home (45 minutes on the freeway) the battery was holding a 12V charge with the car off. I slept on it and the next morning, the charge was gone. Any ideas?
