92 245 Torque converter failure??? 200

Okay, AW70, 50K miles on it since rebuild, trans fluid is perfect, but I'm experiencing "shudder" up to 2100 RPM. Please note this car does have a manual trans rear end ratio. The fluid is bright red, no leaks, fluid level is perfect. Engine and trans mounts are 3 months old, and the ECU is throwing no codes, ie 111.

I have experienced torque converter failure on V8 Chevy products from the late 80s and it feels like its exactly the same. The thing that has me confused is that I have NEVER heard of a 240 smoking a torque converter! Could it be due to the rear end ratio causing an excessive load at lower RPMs?
