My new 940: Radio Problem 900

I am trying to sort out my “new” 1995 940. Ordinarily it would not bother me that the radio didn’t work; I would just replace it. However, this car has the factory 6-pack CD changer, and that works perfectly. So, I am a bit reluctant to give up on the radio.

Initially I thought it was a problem related to the in-glass antenna combined with window tinting. That may be a problem, but if so it is now a secondary problem. I hooked up a test antenna to it today, and found out that it does not change stations.

The numbers on the front change as if it were tuning, but regardless of the frequency displayed, the broadcast frequency remains the same. The Auto selection will not lock in any stations. It is the same on AM or FM.

Any ideas? Any chance that if I completely disconnect it (after getting the anti-theft codes) it will right itself?

Thanks,
Charley
