1983 240GL needs wiring harness. Long rambling post :) 200

Hello Everyone,

I don't post here much but I visit all the time and have found alot of answers over the years. I am a MVO (Multi Volvo Owner). I have a 79 wagon with almost 400K on it, a very nice 85 wagon with only 117K and a recently bought 83 244GL.

Anywho, the 83 needs a wiring harness and a few other things, and I just don't know if I should try to save it or strip it down of usable parts and send the rest to the junkyard.

For what it's worth, I love Volvo 240s. I don't think there will ever be another car made that can come close. I found this 83 and even though it needed some work, I just couldn't stand to see it go to the crusher. Old 240s are like a puppy standing on the side of the road; I have to pick it up and either keep it or try to find it a good home...

I am feeling a little overwhelmed by this one. I found a wiring harness for a somewhat reasonable price. But what if there are other issues? I have been very lucky with my other 240s. They have pretty much required very little over the years, although I did have to replace the blower motor in both. Which, BTW I did not think was that diffucult of a job, call me crazy!

What say you, oh great BrickBoard members? Should I step up, replace the wiring harness, address the other issues, and save another 240 from certain death? Or take out the emotion and realize this is a 25 year old car that is just used up?

Sorry for the long post, but I could sure use some help sorting this one out.
Thanks,
Tony,
