fuel pump relay location?? 200 1987

hey i got an 87 245 gl. i think i am having a fuel pump relay issue. stalls like its out of gas .....then 5 minutes later will start....well my problem ..is ..i cant find it!!! i went behind the felt panel under the steering wheel and seen the holder clip thats on the floor panel but nothing there!! there is one thats mounted close to the steering column it is a white 4 bladed one that looks like its for overdrive. anyway from what area should the wiring be coming from that goes to the relay? should it be positioned on that floor panel that i seen? anyway any help or input appreciated.
