engine cutting out 900 1995

I have a 1995 940 turbo wagon.

After washing down the engine compartment, the engine started sputtering a little. I drove it around the block and all seemed fine until I turned left. The engine sputtered then died. Starts right back up and runs fine until turning left again. This was late yesterday PM. I drove to work and back today with similar problem. I pulled the distributor cap and virtually no moisture was found. I toweled it off and reinstalled it. A mechanic friend suggested leaving the hood open to let any moisture have a better chance to evaporate. So it's sitting in the driveway drying off right now.

Forgot to mention that this happened about a month ago after cleaning the engine compartment, just never died back then.

Any ideas on troubleshooting this (other than quit spraying water under the hood) would be appreciated.

Thanks

Pritchard
