service light 700

Were you hitting the brake while also using the turn signal? did the bulb-out light flash with the signal?

I think the top light is not part of the bulb out sensor, but I could be wrong.

I would pull the bulbs out and put them back into the sockets. If they've been in there forever, they can have a tiny bit of corrosion on the contacts - just enough to change their resistance, even though they still work.

To turn off the service engine soon reminder, there is a button in the instrument cluster.
There should be a rubber plug in the clear plastic instrument cover. Pull it out carefully (don't want to push it into the space between, but it can be recovered if you do) and then use a screwdriver or something to press the button behind the plug. It should push in easily, but over the years, mine has started to bind up. You will feel it move nearly a half inch before it makes contact.

Good luck,
Will
