How to take AMM out of '90 740 turbo? 700 1990

I went to do this after work yesterday in the cold & dark. Couldn't see too good & the 740 is at my work about 1/2 hr. away. Will come today with warmer work-on-car clothes and tools. Maybe it was because of the dark, but I couldn't see how to take it out - on my 240's I can have it out in a few minutes. Do I have to take out the top of the air filter to access bolt heads? And to take the top of the air filter off do I have to take out the coolant hose to the radiator? THANKS!

(P.S. Nothing wrong with the 740 AMM, it's the same as on my '90 240 (016) & I want to see if the AMM is the problem on my 240)
