Which Coolant? 700 1991

First, I have great faith in all (almost all) things Volvo. After all, I drive one.

That said, the new, blue, Volvo coolant is $31 per gallon. Can any of you comment on whether or not you think this stuff is better than plain old Prestone?

Even the parts guy at my local Volvo dealer was pressing me to use "Pep-boys finest" in my 1991 740. He did not seem to think that the new coolant is worth it in the older cars that don't have all aluminum engines.

Edit, to add: The reason for this question is that I have to change the head on my car, which means drain and refill coolant. I have almost, almost enough Volvo coolant on hand, but am about 1 qt. short of enough. See the dilemma? Do I buy a $31 gallon of the stuff to make enough, or do I use cheap Prestone and let the nearly $31 worth of Volvo coolant on hand just sit there?

Your thoughts?
