89 244 no start after 2.5 weeks of sitting (and the fix) 200 1989

During the holidays we took the family car to Montana for to weeks and left the brick in the driveway with 6 inches of snow on it. Once we got back it would crank but no start. It sounded like it would catch for a second then just cranked after that.

I checked for fuel at the rail by cracking the line and had fuel squirt out under pressure. I moved on to the spark. #1 cylinder had a bright orange spark and #2 wasn't sparking at all. Off to the parts store for plugs.

Replaced plugs still no start, but had good spark on all 4. Went back to the fuel system a second time. Relays were clicking and everything seemed fine. Removed fuel line at the rail to check fuel flow. Cranked engine while line was disconnected and the car started right up with good pressure coming from supply line.

Apparently the fuel system was vapor locked. New one for me.

Hopefully this can save someone some trouble shooting time...
