Windshield wiper linkage 900 1994

Greetings all...

The driver's side wiper on my 940 has disconnected from the linkage. Snapping it back on is no problem, but I can't figure out how the thing is supposed to stay connected without slipping off again! There are no threads for a bolt/nut. There is no hole for a pin. There's barely enough room for anything. After attaching the linkage arm there is barely 1/8" of the connecting pin left exposed. My only thought is to use JB Weld to attach a flat washer so that it doesn't slip off again, but I'm going crazy trying to figure out how it stayed on for the last 15 years!

Any thoughts? Thanks.
