How to start when cold? 120-130

Is there a trick to starting 122s' when their cold? The 1960 that I got Monday cranks great first thing in the morning, but will not start. A half second of starter fluid sprayed on each carb. and it starts right up. The rest of the day, it starts fine. I have tried the choke out all the way, part way, not pumping the gas, puumping the gas, holding the pedal to the floor.

When this car...my wife named her "Belle"...came Monday afternoon,I drove it about 2 miles. That is the first time I have driven a 122 in 29 years, so I am having to learn about these from the beginning.

Thank you again for your help.

Jim
