1967 122 running issues and questions 120-130

Greetings to all. I have some questions about my '67 122. Still have the dual SU's on it. I am in the process of getting to her back to a driver, I did 20 miles last night and this morning from and then back to work this morning. It has been sitting up for a while, so I know it will take some blood, sweat, and tears (AND MONEY) to get her running again. Here is what I am fighting - the car is backfiring...less now than it has prior to my 20 mile trip. This morning, though, it seemed like it was out of time of running on 3 cyls. At work (volvo of Savannah) we checked the timing, its good, it is running on all 4. Wires are new, plugs are (did NOT check the gap however)...rotor looks good, cap looks good...points look good...so, I am kind of left with an SU problem...I had 1800's in the past that my dad put a Weber on..I have heard SU's are always out of adjustment :-)

Any thoughts? other things I can check?

thanks!!!
