I did have the ball joints replaced - by the local Volvo dealer. I'll check with them on that. Also had new tie rod ends & struts replaced at the same time. So it feels just fine going down the road, except for a relatively harsh ride. But it's hard to say if it's harsher than normal 'cause who knows what normal is?! Thanks very much for the info.
