little heat 200 1989

I have a 89 240 that has been giving me some cold feet so to speak. When I turn the heat on after the car has warmed up the heat blowing is not very warm, almost cold. My same age and older bmw's would blast me out of the car and I would have to turn the heat down. The drive to work, 22 miles is never toasty warm, at the same time the car doesn't overheat. I'm very confused.
