Your 1st paragraph sounds a lot like my recent PUZZLER POST, with pics of the solution HERE.

The Regina can set most of the same codes too. What codes are you getting?

Sounds like Midas installed a Bosch type sensor. You need an NTK 25002. Search here on Titania for more info.
EDIT: I misread your Midas comment. But if you do need an O2 sensor, the NTK 25002 is the one to get. About $110± + shipping from online sources.
