Oil Tube Question 444-544

You can use your old B18 tube with a B20 pump no problem. Lube the new seal rings with a little motor oil before slipping them onto the tube, and again on the outside. Then:

Push and twist the longer end of the tube into the pump as far as you can possibly get it to go.

Place the other end of the tube partway into the block, but don't try to seat it all the way yet. The pump shaft will not quite align with the hole it needs to drop into.

Apply pressure on the tube towards the block, and tap the pump into position with a hammer. This should make the tube seat in the block as well. If it's right, the tube will be quite firm and you won't be able to wiggle it around at all.

You'll need to cut a small notch out of the pan baffle to make it clear the new pump. Easy to do with a hacksaw.
