Another gauge question? 200

Spent the better part of the day Installing Gauges in my 87 240 GL. I have a Oil Temp. F, Ambient Temp. F, 5 bar Oil pressure, Volt gauge & the Boost gauge. Just test drove it and everything works great even the Oil temp. I do have two problems. I changed the oil a few days ago and add the Oil temp sender then. There was a little oil on the plug. I remember thing the copper gasket did not fit the sender very good and that may be the problem. The other is the blue tint on the older gauges. I forgot how dark they are at night. Seven year ago Had the same problem. Then i cut the gauge in half, removed the blue disk then taped it back together. I don't own the car anymore but it still working fine. I can't hack these up. They are too hard to find. Anybody had the same problem? would brighter bulbs help? Help!!!
