Klaus, understood. Many (many) of my neighbors have them and they have mentioned the issues related to annoying trips to the dealer for nitpicky stuff. Most were related to E320 iteration, and everyone I have spoken to about the newer 350 are actually quite pleased.

This has not been an easy choice. I am not a car fanatic by any stretch of the imagination, and there is nothing wrong with my V90, except age for a family car.
The Brickboard itself was a reason to look at the new XC's and I am not a big MB fan, but there are lots of them to chose from and the price is right. I also have an office in Wash DC, so have easy access to this market.
There are actually many more available here, more out of work DC trolls from W'43 than scammed Nyers by Madoff .

Agreed that the dealer costs are higher, but the closest Volvo dealer is 15 miles away, versus 2-3 for MB. Again an plus for MB. Also the Volvo has quite a few layers of noise, road, engine, some strange rattles, that surprised me.
Have finalized anything yet. Thanks again for the thoughts..
