BW55 to M46 swap in the works 200 1980

I got started on swapping trannys on my '80 244 diesel this weekend pulling everything out of my parts car except the clutch pedal, which will have to wait until next weekend.

Pulling the M46 out was definitely a chore. I had a helper in the car hold a rope tied to the end of the trans to help bias it while I pulled on the jack under it. Tough to get it started (mostly because I missed one of the top bolts) but it all worked out in the end. I don't need to swap rear ends because the owner's manual claims that both trannys have the same rear end (3.31 I think).

While the manual said to lower the trans to get to the top 2 bolts, I was able to get at both of them from the top with a socket wrench and small breaker bar w/o too much trouble. It looks like getting the BW55 out is going to be tougher because there is less room around the bellhousing.

My only question so far:

There are 2 electrical connections on top of the M46. One at the front right, one at the left rear (reverse lights I think). What are they?
