Tires rubbing agaist the shock 900

Here is another one. The 96/960 calls for 205/55/R16 tires. I got Michelin tires on the car and they are rubbing against the shock when stopping. When the car is stationary, I can see about half inch from the tire to the shock. I painted the shock and definitely the paint has been rubbed off, a small spot. No when the tires were new, but now after a couple of years. Changing air pressure does not help much.
Michelin tires are rounded on the side and wider than other tires with a more straight wall. Anyone one out there has experienced this. I am thinking on putting 195/55/R16 in place. I like Michelin MXV4, very quiet tire, but maybe I have to give them up and install the require size, but different brand.
