I patched the floors on my car and I decided to follow my friend's advice and put asphalt roof pitch as an under coating wherever it was rusted or on the new metal. I wouldn't worry about it but my problem is there are some places I used that stuff close to where the exhaust passes (like right next to it and right above it). And it's about where the passenger has his feet so it's in the warmer section of it. Am I right to be concerned now that that stuff will start melting even if cured when the car is in traffic? Or will it be ok? too late now to clean it.
