White Wire on Tail Light Harness 200

Hello All,

I've got an '81 242 GLT and have just finished re-wiring my tail lights due to faulty circuit boards. I hard wired in all of the contacts and tossed out the boards in the hopes of having a more permanent fix for the problem. My question is...what does the white wire on the tail light harness do? The traces on the board have it ending and it doesn't connect to anything? Can I just tape it off? There is nothing to hook it up to.

Confused.
Craig
