Weird electrical, Part 14 (or therabouts) 200 1989

Ok, 89 Volvo 240 DL with 244K miles.

I have had, on occasion, this weird glow in the instrument cluster that you can only see at night. It's a pulsating glow in the battery light and the OD arrow only. It will start without explanation and end without explanation.

Last October, the glow got much more pronounced and the car stalled out. One new batter and one new alternator later, the glow was gone.

Now, it's back.

Anyone have ideas?
