Are alternators for B21, B23, B230 engines mechanically interchangeable? 200 1979

As there aren't many 240s at my local pick-n-pull, can I grab an alternator out of any year (1975 to 1993) or model (244DL, 244GL, 245GL/DL, non-turbo, turbo, etc) 240 series car to put in my 1979 B21 244GL non-turbo car? I don't care about the power rating (35A, 55A, 75A etc) since I have no accessories. I just want mechanical compatibility so that I can fit the alternator in the B21 mounting bracket and that the pulley will be in line with the engine main pulley and water pump pulley. Another possible fitting constraint is that the oil pressure switch on B21 is between the alternator and the oil filter so the alternator can't be too deep/long, whereas on the B230 it's further up the engine block so can't interfere. As my OEM 1979 alternator has an internal regulator, can these be retrofitted (if needed) to an alternator that had an external regulator?
