Electrical system freakout 200 1993

Here's something that happened. I was driving along the freeway when my transmission slipped into overdrive on its own and back out several times. (It's an auto) At first I thought the solenoid was giving out, but then it kept happening with the ABS light coming on and then with the speedo jumping up and down with no regard to what speed I was actually travelling. Today when I tried starting it, it wouldn't turn over. I'm guessing something's gone to ground if the battery's low. Anyone have any ideas where the short(s) might be to cause the rest of that stuff? Thanks in advance...
