Hooking up an under-the-dash temp. gauge? 120-130

Well,
my Volvo is soon becoming my daily driver.
The temp gauge in it now doesn't work.
Autozone sells these gauges that go under the dash.
They have two kinds.
Mechanical and electrical.\
(they're water temperature gauges, was the original temperature gauge for water temp? I'm not good with this)

Mechanical:
3/8" amd 1/2" NPT Fittings
6' Capillary Tubing

Electrical:
3/8" and 1/2" NPT fittings
1/8" electric sender

Which one should I use?
