Improving Compression with age. 200

the only way to determine "normal" is to duplicate your background a number of times, finite or otherwise, i.e. bought what you did when you did, checked every time you did and seafoamed it when you did. given that what you did is NOT normal, i would say there's carbon buildup on the tops of the pistons or bottoms of the valves. and this is typical of ANY engine that has been given the wrong fuel and the wrong trips. that is, short trips instead of long; regular fuel instead if premium. this is what the british used to call a 'DE-CARBONISING SERVICE". PULL THE HEAD, REMOVE THE CARBON AND REINSTALL THE HEAD. when i say what you did is NOT normal, i mean no one does regular compression tests. i've had cars i've serviced for 20 years and i have NEVER done more than 1 compression test on ANY vehicle. that said, i would not take your readings too seriously. i applaud your dilegence and interest, but the information is not that important. kinda like the NSA or FBI listening to me, collecting all my conversations and trying to find the terrorist connection. and i have never said "blow up the blah, blah, whatever." now, if your dilegence turns up an anolmoly, then, by all means post it. there is no such thing as too much information. just don't be suprised if nothing out of the ordinary happens. good luck, chuck.
