exhaust bracket help 900 1993

Am in process of replacing the gasket between manifold and downpipe to seal an annoying exhaust leak on my NA 945. The nuts came off the studs with no problem. However, the bracket that comes off the bellhousing to support the downpipe is severely corroded where it attaches to the downpipe, and I have been unable to budge the bolts at all. Access is extremely tight back there (no room for breaker bar).

Is it okay to remove the two bolts for the bellhousing that appear to pass through this bracket? Is it indeed held on with only those 2 bolts? That's the only way I can see to get enough play in the exhaust system to separate the joint and install the new gasket.

Must finish this today, need advice asap.

thanks,
John
