The 240 will never make anyone's all-time top 100 list...but should. 200

There's something to be said for simple, pedestrian design when that design just works and continues to work past its expected lifespan. The 240 is the Maytag washer and Kitchen-Aid mixer of automobiles. Not the prettiest, but pretty darn functional. And if it achieves a certain cult classic status, so be it.

It is rightfully earned.

Imagine how many 240s are still out there...a full15yrs after the last one rolled off the assembly line. Now imagine how many MORE would still be out there had their owners realized how simple the fix really was. In this disposable techno age, the 240 is everything but that, and that's what makes it so endearing to so many. For this and for all the reasons already mentioned.... keep on rolling 240.

Hopefully we will again see the true spirit of the 240 reborn as it once was...

Durability, workability, versatility and pedestrianability.
