1995 940 engine & transmission in a 240 200

I was in my favorite Junk yard today and found a 95 940 with 98,049 miles. The engine and Transmission were so clean, No leaks or oil anywhere. Looking in the valve cover it look like a new one. The distributor or crank sensor is at the back of the head. My question are Can it be used in a 240. The interchange manual says no for the engine and Transmission. I though The Transmission would be no problem. Does anyone know for sure?
