And, this morning, NO problem! 700 1991

Yesterday evening: problems posted above. The fuel pump was noisey. But it always has been, when it has been operating for a while. I pulled the in-tank pump fuse, and there was no change in the noise from the main pump. Usually there is a very clear change to a grating/grinding sound. It was kind of gratey/grindy to begin with last night. I assume that this means either the in-tank pump had failed, or the main pump is on its last legs.

This morning: turned key to KP II, main pump ran just fine, with a quiet buzz. Pulled in-tank pump fuse, and the main pump grinded/grated just as it should. So, the in-tank pump is working, and, at least for now, and fully cooled off overnight, the main pump is running fine.

So, after I eat lunch, I guess I'll take it out for a drive and warm up the main pump to see if it gets troublesome again. Don't want to replace something that expensive if I don't need to.

UGGHHH! As nice as this car is, I am beginning to hate it. It has actually had two episodes of conking out, with no apparent cause, and no explaination, then just simply healed itself and trundled on for months just fine. It is really a pain in the @$$ and very frustrating. I DO have other things to do besides obsess with this piece of steel.
