Inner tie rod...What do I have? 200 1984

Hello all,

My car is an 84, 5 years ago I replaced the rack with a remanufactured unit from NAPA. My tie rod arm is the smooth type and the boot mounts to the arm (Cam Gear), not to a disk (ZF).

On the FCP Groton site it says my tie rod should have female threads, but if it has male threads the rack has been replaced with the later model 88-93 CAM\TRW rack. My rod has male threads and was secured with a foldover lockwasher.

The lockwasher had been reused and got more abused with my removal. The problem is the later model rod from FCP does not come with a lockwasher and the only one he says that comes with a lockwasher is the ZF tie rod.

What has NAPA done created a HYBRID? Do I need to order the ZF rod and run mismatched rods?

FCP does not list a seperate lockwasher, does anyone have a late model 88-93 CAM\TRW rack that has lockwashers?
