Check those replacement parts carefully 200

I am in the middle of a major front end rebuild and will be posting a report/lessons learned when I finish. However just wanted to pass on a lesson that I had learned long ago and forgotten. Am getting close to the end of this project and was getting ready to put the front hubs (with new bearings installed) back on the spindles. Won't go on. Should just slip right on. Hub with inner bearing goes on but no way the outer bearing will go on. Using an SKF bearing kit (which is the best way to go since it comes with the correct seals). Finally check the boxes. Correct bearing numbers. Check the bearing versus the box and the old bearing. Bearing should be an LM12749. The one I have is an LM12748. Wrong bearing in the correct box. Arrrgh!! To bad I oredered these parts and have had them on the shelf for 3-4 years. Anyway, check parts carefully before you tear everything apart. Can't always find a bearing (at least not an SKF) on Sunday.
