My "New' Car 444-544

Hello,

In the last 8 months I have rebuilt 2 B16 engines and I was able to mount both of them on my small engine enginestand.

I am only guessing, but I think Phil might not know that if you can not get the flywheel out of the bellhousing easily, that you can knock the 6 studs back in towards the front of the motor. This gives more room to slide the flywheel out of the bellhousing.

You have to have the flywheel off to get to the 4 inner bellhousing bolts.

With the bellhousing off, you can then mount the engine to an engine stand for a small motor.

The adjustable arms on an engine stand for a larger motor like a V8, can not adjust to the small bolt pattern on the back of the B16 block.

We also used spacers between the engine stand mounting bracket and the back of the block to give more room for handling the crankshaft.
