nissonger gasket kits 1800

i have purchased a nissonger gasket kit for the guages in my 71. there are four rubber gaskets that appear to be the size of the oil temperature and water temperature guages. the other two parts are round rubber "rope" that are supposed to be for the tach and speedo. where do the gaskets go? are they for in between the glass and the guage or in between the bessel and glass. when i took mine apart, there was just a dried up black gasket between the glass and bessel. why are there four of the smaller gaskets? i tried to tell the guy at nissonger there was a larger (60mm +/-) oil pressure guage but he didn't have it or believe me. Also, when i took the bessel off the speedo and tach, there were two paper gaskets on my guages. is this the factory seal or is this something that was put on sometime in the past?
