92 240 engine keeps flooding 200 1992

so my bright red 240 (a real brick) keeps having problems with the engine flooding--wouldn't get out of the driveway today...got it fixed/cleaned in december, as time goes by the idle gets more and more rough (basically sputtering last time i got it to move) though onc i get going it's fine.

last summer got part of the exhaust system replaced, since then it makes a rattling sound on acceleration and uphills....any idea what's going on? i'm at college now way aways from the only volvo dealer around (esp the one back home who deals in old ones). help!
