52mm Volvo Oil Pressure Gauge 200

Hi all, I was at the PnP today and saw a 240 with the oil pressure and volt gauges on the dash, I think I also saw the sending unit for the oil pressure gauge on the passenger's side of the block, towards the front of the engine. It was round, about an inch and a half in diameter and had two posts for electric connections. Am I right in thinking that was the sending unit for the oil pressure gauge? Is hooking the oil and volt gauges up as straight forward as supplying 12V and a line from the gauge to the sender?
